Kac-Moody group representations and generalization of the Sugawara construction of the Virasoro algebra

1988

We discuss the dynamical structure of the semidirect product of the Virasoro and affine Kac-Moody groups within the framework of a group quantization formalism. This formalism provides a realization of the Virasoro algebra acting on Kac-Moody Fock states which generalizes the Sugawara construction. We also give an explicit construction of the standard Kac-Moody group representations associated with strings on SU(2) and recover, in particular, the ‘renormalization’ β factor of L(z)

Annihilators of tensor density modules

2007

Abstract We describe the two-sided ideals in the universal enveloping algebras of the Lie algebras of vector fields on the line and the circle which annihilate the tensor density modules. Both of these Lie algebras contain the projective subalgebra, a copy of sl 2 . The restrictions of the tensor density modules to this subalgebra are duals of Verma modules (of sl 2 ) for Vec ( R ) and principal series modules (of sl 2 ) for Vec ( S 1 ) . Thus our results are related to the well-known theorem of Duflo describing the annihilating ideals of Verma modules of reductive Lie algebras. We find that, in general, the annihilator of a tensor density module of Vec ( R ) or Vec ( S 1 ) is generated by …

On the Leibniz bracket, the Schouten bracket and the Laplacian

2003

International audience; The Leibniz bracket of an operator on a (graded) algebra is defined and some of its properties are studied. A basic theorem relating the Leibniz bracket of the commutator of two operators to the Leibniz bracket of them is obtained. Under some natural conditions, the Leibniz bracket gives rise to a (graded) Lie algebra structure. In particular, those algebras generated by the Leibniz bracket of the divergence and the Laplacian operators on the exterior algebra are considered, and the expression of the Laplacian for the product of two functions is generalized for arbitrary exterior forms.

On Overlapping Divergences

1998

Using set-theoretic considerations, we show that the forest formula for overlapping divergences comes from the Hopf algebra of rooted trees.

Comparison of frictional resistance between passive self-ligating brackets and slide-type low-friction ligature brackets during the alignment and lev…

2019

Background To compare the frictional resistance between passive self-ligating brackets and conventional brackets with low-friction ligature under bracket/archwire and root/bone interface during dental alignment and leveling. Material and methods A tridimensional model of the maxilla and teeth of a patient treated with conventional brackets, and slide ligatures was generated employing the SolidWorks modeling software. SmartClip self-ligating brackets and Logic Line conventional brackets were assembled with slide low-friction ligatures, utilizing archwires with different diameters and alloys used for the alignment and leveling stage. Friction caused during the bracket/archwire interface and s…

OPERADS AND JET MODULES

2005

Let $A$ be an algebra over an operad in a cocomplete closed symmetric monoidal category. We study the category of $A$-modules. We define certain symmetric product functors of such modules generalising the tensor product of modules over commutative algebras, which we use to define the notion of a jet module. This in turn generalises the notion of a jet module over a module over a classical commutative algebra. We are able to define Atiyah classes (i.e. obstructions to the existence of connections) in this generalised context. We use certain model structures on the category of $A$-modules to study the properties of these Atiyah classes. The purpose of the paper is not to present any really de…

A Comparison between Star Products on Regular Orbits of Compact Lie Groups

2001

In this paper an algebraic star product and differential one defined on a regular coadjoint orbit of a compact semisimple group are compared. It is proven that there is an injective algebra homomorphism between the algebra of polynomials with the algebraic star product and the algebra of differential functions with the differential star product structure.

Perturbative BF-Yang–Mills theory on noncommutative

2000

A U(1) BF-Yang-Mills theory on noncommutative ${\mathbb{R}}^4$ is presented and in this formulation the U(1) Yang-Mills theory on noncommutative ${\mathbb{R}}^4$ is seen as a deformation of the pure BF theory. Quantization using BRST symmetry formalism is discussed and Feynman rules are given. Computations at one-loop order have been performed and their renormalization studied. It is shown that the U(1) BFYM on noncommutative ${\mathbb{R}}^4$ is asymptotically free and its UV-behaviour in the computation of the $\beta$-function is like the usual SU(N) commutative BFYM and Yang Mills theories.

The module structure of Hochschild homology in some examples

2008

Abstract In this Note we give a simple proof of a conjecture by A. Caldararu stating the compatibility between the modified Hochschild–Kostant–Rosenberg isomorphism and the action of Hochschild cohomology on Hochschild homology in the case of Calabi–Yau manifolds and smooth projective curves.
